MSA Inside

This blog is created by M. Silver Associates to show what's going on INSIDE the PR company that's ranked among the leading mid-sized public relations firms in the USA, and share everything that touches the everyday life of our staffers and the lives of our beloved clients. Everyone from the CEO to the receptionist contributes to this blog.

New Year’s Eve is a time for reflecting back over the past year, and to plan and make resolutions for the coming year. The tradition of making a New Year’s resolution(s) has been around for ages.   According to Forbes, 44 percent of Americans make New Year’s resolutions, and we at the M. Silver Associates are sharing our goals and dreams for 2012.

In addition to our New Year resolutions, we are also making a list of places we’d like to visit in the next year, because we do love to travel.

This year we’d like to share our resolutions with our readers, and we’d be happy to know yours.

What are MSA staffers’ New Year’s resolutions? Here they are:

  • Enjoying the wonders of “steak” – to bulk on Vitamin E
  • Become a social media expert
  • Spend more time being creative and having fun with family and friends
  • Be a better New Yorker – volunteer
  • Learn 500 words in Spanish!
  • Explore NYC more – (some of MSA staffers just moved to NYC recently, and have only hit the tip of the iceberg when it came to all the exciting things that are just a subway ride away.)
  • To run the NYC Half Marathon with all friends.
  • To become more familiar with social media and what it can do for the company and clients
  • To stay in closer touch with friends and extended family
  • To buy only classic pieces of clothing, footwear, etc. that will last and stop wasting money on fad items
  • To be more organized at home and at work
  • To stay positive and emit good energy for the benefit of others and yourself
  • Start a blog
  • Travel to as many new places as possible
  • Volunteer
  • Get married
  • To do more travel with my family.
  • Try out a new restaurant in NYC every week
  • To go sky-diving
  • Practice Yoga
  • Making time for yourself to do the things that help unwind and relax
  • To be a positive youthful example for three nephews and soon to come niece
  • Fit in fitness by becoming a member at a gym – a resolution that has been triggered by a free trial at the gym this year and realizing how much you needed it once the trial was over
  • Spend less time on the things that don’t really matter, and more time on those things that do – choose quality vs. quantity in all aspects of your life.

As you can see, our resolutions reflect both – the state of mind and body: diet, fitness, vitamins, volunteering as well as our professional work; learning new trades, hobbies and interests; travel, foreign languages, extreme sports, dining out. But most importantly, the majority of us put family above it all…

As to what destinations we will follow MSA staffers’ in 2012?

  • Argentina
  • Croatia
  • Punta del Este, Uruguay
  • Korea – to revisit from 2011 and check out all the ramen places in South Korea
  • Singapore – for great hawker food
  • Penang – to see the hometown of one of the MSA employees
  • South Africa – for Cape Town and a Safari
  • Istanbul
  • Berlin
  • Copenhagen
  • Morocco
  • Singapore again – the food was amazing and still didn’t get too see enough on my last trip
  • Denmark
  • A ski vacation to Vermont
  • Charleston, SC – even though it’s not as ‘exotic’, it is a great city for sight-seeing, history, and fantastic food
  • South America
  • Sri Lanka
  • The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort and visit the South Pacific – not only does the property look amazing but the area seems incredible with interesting culinary choices and a culture rich in tradition
  • Bora, Bora – would be nice to do just that – unwind and relax!
  • Europe: Italy, Spain, Greece—pretty much anywhere that would get a European stamp on the passport

What are your New Year resolutions? Where would you like to travel in 2012?
